Accessibility Statement: Using EasyGrade With Any Device
This accessibility statement explains what EasyGrade does to be usable with a keyboard, a screen reader and on a phone, what we have and have not tested, and how to tell us about a barrier.

Accessibility statement: the quick answer
We build EasyGrade to work with a keyboard, with assistive technology and on small screens, and we aim to follow the WCAG 2.2 level AA guidelines. We have not had a formal accessibility audit, and we have not tested with screen readers, so some barriers may remain. If you find one, tell us and we will work on it.
What we do for accessibility
- Keyboard use. Every calculator control can be reached and used with the keyboard. A clear focus outline shows where you are.
- Labels and hints. Each box has a visible label. Hints and error messages are linked to their box so assistive technology can read them.
- Clear errors. A problem is shown in text next to the box and the box is marked invalid, not only coloured.
- Announced results. A polite live region announces updated results.
- Not just colour. The current grade in a table is marked with text as well as colour.
- Tables. Data tables use proper header cells, and wide tables scroll sideways and can be reached by keyboard.
- Touch targets. Buttons and fields are at least 44 pixels tall.
- Small screens. Pages are built to work at a 360-pixel width without sideways scrolling.
- Motion. Animation is reduced when your device asks for less motion.
- Printing. A print view hides controls so charts and results print cleanly.
- If scripts fail. A page says so, and static content such as the grading charts still shows.
What we have tested, and what we have not
We have tested every calculator in a real browser at phone width, checked that number boxes reject letters, and checked keyboard and error behaviour with automated tests. We have not tested with screen readers such as NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack, with voice control, or by an outside accessibility auditor. Treat the points above as our design intent, not a guarantee.
Known limitations
- Print buttons print the whole web page from your browser, including your site’s menu and footer. Use your browser’s print preview to choose pages.
- Large tables, such as the class grade sheet, can be hard to use with a screen reader because of their size.
- The theme around the calculators is not part of EasyGrade and may have its own issues.
Tips for assistive technology users
- Use Tab and Shift+Tab to move between boxes, and Space or Enter on buttons.
- Listen for the result announcement after you press the calculate button, or after you change a value.
- The easy grader and the points-based calculator are the simplest pages if you want few controls.
- Your browser’s zoom and text size settings work.

Accessibility questions
Is EasyGrade accessible?
We design for keyboard, screen reader and phone use and aim for WCAG 2.2 AA, but we have not had a formal audit, so some barriers may remain.
Can I use EasyGrade with only a keyboard?
Yes. Every control can be reached with Tab and used with Enter or Space.
Does it work with a screen reader?
It is built with labels, linked hints and a live region for results. We have not tested with specific screen readers yet.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Pages are built for widths down to 360 pixels.
Can I zoom or enlarge the text?
Yes. The pages respond to browser zoom and text size settings.
Are errors shown only in colour?
No. Each error has text beside the box, and the box is marked invalid.
Does the site respect reduced motion?
Yes. Animation is reduced when your device asks for it.
What if a calculator does not load?
The page shows a message. Static content such as the grading charts still shows.
How do I report a barrier?
Use the contact page with the page, what you tried and the tool you use.
